more than naked

In this workshop we will engage in nudity, being naked and becoming naked on stage. Nudity not as provocation but as a necessity for the physical research. What kind of movement material is possible with the naked body, compared to the dressed body? Which kind of vehemency and fragility are generated by a naked body? Which kind of illustration, exposition and exhibition is produced?
We will work with the mass of the body, with flesh, skin and the bone structure. The flesh will be moved in different ways, the bone structure implodes and explodes, the skin surfaces transpose. It is a search for dance originating from the material "body". We restage the naked body without losing the tangible of nudity.

"Nudity often is a tool for my artistic work. I will work very physically with the participants, very devoted and precisely. I will introduce my approaches, such as seeing skin as another layer underneath the clothes or my occupation with the baroque era and its urge for opulence and poses as impulses for movement material."

Ruhestandstanz
re-experience the body

A warm-up session will wake up our bodies and we will softly stretch and strengthen our bodies. We will have a lot of fun with dance combinations, improvisations and we will get the retirement in motion. We will experiment with movement and language, music and silence, with weight and lightness, air and groun, inside and outside, with ourseoves and the others. During the course of this week we will find virtuosity in our body and ways of expressing it. Every body has limits - we will regognise them, work with them and try to go beyond the scope of them. Time for the retirement dance!

"The main topic will be the music of the 1960ies and 70ies. We will explore the power of this music and ist lyrics and revive the Zeitgeist, bring it to the here and now, into our bodies, take off but still stay on the ground. Break on through to the other side!"
