Assembling time
A research for people with and without disabilities

We would like to look into the subject of slowness/quickness. The training is devided in three phases - the Warm-up, stretching exercises and improvisation. We will work on movement tasks such as giving and receiving impulses and weight, integrating improvisation exercises with various concepts of time (dynamics, tempo, silence, etc).

In the second part of the class we will transfer this movement material in group work and start to find a collective movement vocabulary. A verbal and non-verbal reflection of what we see will be encouraged by creating a movement and an audience space. Every single person will have the oppportunity to move into space in the frame of a solo, duo or a group improvisation.

The third part of the class focuses on the use of an everyday object, which can be one in sítu or brought along to the class, and a video-documentation. This object will be integrated into the dance improvisation and installed in space. This improvisation will be structured by earlier explored movement tasks.
The creation process will be documented with a videocamera. The small groups are free to choose the space and setting (stage) they want to work in for this process.

We will work with and without music and explore the silence and its influence on movement and motionlessness. Alternation between structured and authenic movement enables every single person to work on their own individual movement vocabulary.
The focus lies on independent decision and self-determination of every single person, with or without limitation. As a result of the structured method, assistance on finding and developing a trust in the indivual movement vocabulary is given and thus shall become more natural.
