African Contemporary Dance („ijodee“)

ijodee in literary terms means dance has come to life or simply, today`s dance.
ijodee seeks to unravel the dance expression and movement mysteries of african legends and mythological events, thereby moving it from the margins of contemporary dance to international recognition.
Participants will learn about the origins of african dances, tap from them and use them in their own ways without getting lost in or meddling with traditional african dances.
Understanding and applying the movement essence of ijodee in terms of moods and emotion will enable the dancers or choreographers to go on a mind blowing journey.
