"Campo de 'Fiori“

A person of a seemingly nondescript gender and age sits in an armchair on a sparsely set stage. Only a few props make reference to Giordano Bruno, a great thinker of the Renaissance, and to his uncompromising battles against hardened traditions estranged from the world, which finally lead to his death of being burned at the stake. This widely celebrated debut choreography of Slovenian choreographer Mala Kline, who previously worked in collaboration with Wim Vandekeybus and Iztok Kovac, portrays the timelessness of Bruno’s thought. A marvelously poetic dance theater piece that demonstrates her immense power as a performer through her precise composition of language, dance, image and music.
