In this piece, Andrea Maurer and Thomas Brandstätter experiment on transferring sequential art (comics, stop-motion) into a choreographic, installative practice. They enter the stage as if they were craftspeople of the choreography trade. They construct and deconstruct images, formations, slide projections and even whole boats in a surprising, clever manner. They are accomplished in operating a fragile machinery of images and reverse the relationship between perception and imagination in a playful manner. “A wonderful, object theatre-like choreography of signs” (Der Standard).

Andrea Maurer studied contemporary dance in Istanbul. She had engagements with DD Dorvillier and Christine Gaigg, for example. Since 2007 she has been working with Thomas Brandstätter, who, following his degree in philosophy, has worked as a film director, among other things.
