"Dance#1/Driftworks"

Two women dressed in white lie on dark-grey felt, apparently motionless. Only on taking a closer look it becomes apparent that their bodies move rhythmically to and fro. This motif runs through the whole piece “Dance #1/Driftworks” by Eszter Salamon, currently the most eminent choreographer in Hungary. From the minimal basis a dancing structure develops in which Salamon and renowned dancer Christine De Smedt search for their way up into a vertical line. The shaking contains a dysfunction, amplified through the refined sound construction by Terre Thaemlitz.
