"XX with Alice"

There is plastic surgery on cable TV, there are women, but also men, who shape their bodies in accordance with current taste. Julie Nioche is tracing these body forms (or formed bodies); together with her partner Barbara Manzetti she is buckling up prostheses, yet her desire to jump out of her latex skin becomes more and more apparent. This is the onset of a game concerned with the paradoxon of the body: on the one hand there is nothing getting closer to us, and therefore nothing more like our inner self, or more suitable as a retreat; on the other hand the body is our prime communicator to the outer world. In collaboration with Alice Daquet (music) both dancers create a performance filled to the brim with comic situations, twisted sobrieties and a huge portion of charm.
