"TRIKE – summer"

A sequence of quick movements to and fro, like film cadres assembled in fast rhythms. Three female dancers are systematically building up their movement phrases upon small time units. They encounter each other on a synthetic surface, put a precise composition together and are doubled up as shadow figures. "TRIKE – summer" is the second stage of a project by the Austrian choreographer Christine Gaigg, which analyzes the basic structures of dance and takes movement as its structural/physical, acoustic and visual image material. Once again experimental film forms the methodical basis for Gaigg’s choreographical experiment. In collaboration with the composer and musician Bernhard Lang (whose latest success was the "Theatre of Repetitions" together with Xavier Le Roy) Gaigg works with scratching and looping; the resulting effects are incorporated into a precisely calculated system.
