"As if (it was beautiful)"

Kattrin Deufert and Thomas Plischke are artistic twins working under the label "frankfurter küche (leipzig)", and they are among the most idiosyncratic and original choreographers and performance artists Germany provides these days. "As if (it was beautiful)" is their latest work. The space created for this piece resembles a visual-acoustic machinery. Within this space, three voices, multiplying faces, missing mouths, ten fingers and two bodies act vital parts as bridges towards new and risky grounds. With this piece, Deufert und Plischke are referring to their solo work called "fleur (anemone)", which once had them meld their two artistic lives into one. Now, after three years of a twin existence, "As if (it was beautiful)" forms a basis for their artistic re-orientation.
