Christoph Winkler, young shooting star of German contemporary ballet, makes the live stories of two exquisite ballerinas, Margaret Illmann and Bettina Thiel, his starting point for an extraordinary piece: „Lebenslang“ („Lifelong“) blends privacy and professionalism to fashion a brilliantly choreographed and ravishingly danced interview, that had the critics drool over. The Viennese audience has known Margaret Illmann since her splendid performances at the Staatsoper; Bettina Thiel has been a highly successful first solo dancer at the Berlin Staatsoper Unter den Linden since 1980.

After a serious knee operation Margaret Illmann is not yet able to dance again. Nonetheless, and for the first time since she has undergone surgery, she will be entering the stage of the Odeon together with Bettina Thiel.  Albeit in a different way, "Lebenslang" will still relate both dancers' biographies as well as mirror their experiences.
