Three women never turning around. Yet through the eye-sockets of old men they keep throwing dull looks at us. „Manual Focus“, a trio by P.A.R.T.S. student Mette Ingvartsen, creates monsters. A twelve-legged creature splits up into three individuals who crawl, weasel and sneak while attentively fixing the audience. A perfect transformation taking place in eerie silence. A metamorphosis that reminds us of beasts from horror movies and, at the same time, turns them ad absurdum, since the deception is so very obvious. And yet: What we observe in „Manual Focus“ is looking at us. But is it also twinkling?
