If choreographer Michael Laub borrows the "Werther"-theme of German genius Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and crosses it with Indian soap operas, then there is "Total Masala Slammer/Heartbreak No 5". Indian Khartak dancers encountering a group of modern Western dancers. A priggish, blue-skirted school girl and a vamp in scarlet dress forming a strange congeniality in a piece that is ironic, extravagant and smart at the same time. Renowned body and performance artist Marina Abramovic created surprising video sequences, the atmospheric sound is by Larry Steinbachek.
