"Kaash"

Just like Bengal lights 28-year-old choreographer Akram Khan radiates the world of contemporary dance; his refined, lyric pieces have already been awarded numerous prizes. For his new work "Kaash" he continues to merge Indian and occidental techniques, this time collaborating with the renowned artists Anish Kapoor, who created the stage design, and composer Nitin Sawhney. "Kaash" ("If") refers to the Indian god Shiva, the destroyer and creator, who, like a black hole, will absorb all those coming to close, but whose dance does also give birth to the universe.
