Emio Greco
"Double Skin/Double Mind"
"With my project I want to encourage the participants to apply physical choices to given rumours, qualities, sounds and music. My main focus will be on questionning how movement, the dancers as individuals, and the dancers in relation to each other can be defined by a synergetic environment. In our research we will experience the helplessness and hopelessness of the body in order to achieve this strength. Music and sound will open up a new state of mind: a confusion of time, in which the body can appear and evaporate. Double Skin/Double Mind is not either/or, but both/and." (Emio Greco). The process will be supported and fostered by Pieter C. Scholten.
Italian born Emio Greco merges classical and contemporary elements to arrive at a new movement language. He is more concerned with exploring the connection between body and mind rather than being limited to the physical possibilities of the dancing body. Following his classical ballet training in Cannes, Emio Greco danced for several years with Ballet Antibes Cote d’Azur. From 1993 onwards he performed in several stage productions of Belgian visual artist and theatre director Jan Fabre as well as in Japanese Choreografer Saburo Teshigawara’s work. His ties to ImPulsTanz date back to 1997, he was invited since as Choreografer, teacher and danceWEB coach.
