Still Difficult Duet

Pieter Ampe and Gui Garrido meet each other in a playful dance duet with the best of intentions: they strive for harmony and synchrony, however, the idyll lasts only a short while. Instead, epic battles filled with grotesque humour break out, omitting neither the banal nor the poetic. Ampe und Garrido first met during the danceWEB scholarship programme in Vienna. The internationally acclaimed piece “Still difficult duet” was their first joint choreography.

P.A.R.T.S. graduate Pieter Ampe will also be performing as a dancer in Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker’s new piece at ImPulsTanz. Guilherme Garrido has danced for Maria Clara Villa-Lobos and Ibrahim Quraishi, for example. He curates the Showrooms series of the Festival da Fábrica in Porto.
