Koffi Kôkô
Koffi Kôkô is a Voodoun priest in his native Benin and also one of the most accomplished modern dancers, choreographers and dance scientists of Africa. His dance is rooted in ritual, e.g. initiation to conversing with gods and nature. His encounter with the western world set off a process of transposing his ritual experience into a sophisticated body language, that incorprates both techniques and expressions of modern dance and contemporary theatre. Koffi Kôkô lives in Paris since the Nineteen Eighties and commutes between Europe and Africa.
