Pilates
technique and principles

These classes will focuses on the form and principles of Pilates. Following the specifically designed exercises, we will focus on strengthening and stretching the core muscles, as a way to reach out/connect to, our extremities. Using the principles of resistance and stabilization we train the body to become more aligned, coordinated, efficient and energized.


Maria Hassabi
Maria Hassabi began teaching Pilates in 1997, after being certified in the "Pilates Method of Body Conditioning" by Romana Kryzanowska. Her teaching is highly influenced by her 10 year study of the Alexander Technique, and her overall knowledge of the body as a dancer and choreographer.
Maria Hassabi will also perform at ImPulsTanz 2006 with “Still Smoking” August 7 at the Akademietheater.
