HipHop

Being a veteran of HipHop despite his young age – at the age of 11 he danced in his first group in Paris - Bruce Ykanji will teach the old and new school of HipHop.
Part of that are popping, boogaloo, waves, flowing, pop, and in the new school hype, monastory, harlem a. o. He will emphasize especially the basic moves teaching the culture of HipHop very carefully as well. The dancers will be well equipped to finally play with their technical abilities.


Bruce Ykanji
Born in Paris 1976 Bruce Ykanji discovered the HipHop dance (popping style) in Cameroon in West Africa at the age of 8. Since his first group participation in Paris when he was just 11 years old, he used to dance in many different groups, the last one being Ykanji, which he is still a member of. They were invited a.o. to the universal exposition in Lisbon 1998, to Pina Bausch’s festival in Wuppertal 1998, and to La Grande Halle de la Villette in France.
He was dancing for the wellknown rapper MC Solaar in 1997, 98, 2002 and was part of the famous musical 10 commandements touring in France, Belgium, Switzerland and Canada. He did the English S.club 7 Tour in 2003. He is dancing in The Mis-teeq video scandalous in 2003. Bruce danced in The Art of the Urban Dance with 8 other dancers created by Storm.
He has been the creator of the “Juste debout” festivals in 2002, 2003, and 2004 in France. He is teaching work shops in Italy, Japan, France and Germany.
