Ailey Repertory
versatile repertory demanding physical and spatial clarity

Based on the principles of the Horton Technique we will investigate the versatile repertory of Alvin Ailey.



Milton Myers
Milton Myers currently teaches at The Ailey School, The Juilliard School, and Steps on Broadway, in addition to being resident choreographer for Philadanco. His teaching credits include North Carolina School of the Arts, Marymount Manhattan College, Fordham University, New York University, University of the Arts, Ballet Stagium (Brazil), Batsheva (Israel), and New Danish Dance Theatre, as well as numerous festivals and universities in the United States and abroad. His choreography has earned recognition from the National Endowment for the Arts, Rockefeller Foundation's CAPS Choreography Award, and the United States Cultural Department. Mr. Myers was a founding member, performer, and assistant to the director with the Joyce Trisler Danscompany and the company's artistic director from 1980-1986. He performed with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Fred Benjamin, and Walter Nicks. Mr. Myers has taught Pillow workshops in Argentina, Greece, and Norway to select dancers for Jacob's Pillow scholarships. This year marks his 20th anniversary season guiding and mentoring dancers in The School at Jacob's Pillow.
