Contemporary Technique
Releasing the body into movement

This technique has been dubbed MOBILZE, and implies research into the physical laws that condition our movement.
We will look for softness and release in fast and dynamic movement. We will learn how to use the body’s weight through basic themes such as drop, suspension and bounce.
MOBILIZE focuses more on movement in space than movement in the body.
The final aim is to internalize all this knowledge and to set in free in movement, thus MOBILIZING body, weight and will with a single purpose in mind: releasing the body into movement.

Partnering
less force!

We will discover and experience partnering work by way of the following basic notions: weight, momentum, release and suspension. The aim is to achieve creating dynamic partnering material with a "less-force" motto. The attention in someone else's body will be seen as an extension of our own and we'll look at the similarity that exists between influencing another body and maneuvering our own body.
We will start the class with a short warm-up and then move on to explore some partnering ideas through exercises and improvisation. After that we'll learn about set material and repertory, to put the principles discovered in partnering to the test.
