The Choreographers' Venture is designed to bring together a dedicated group of dance creators in an intense, highly focused and boundary-extending project that propels questions of contemporary dance to their cutting edge.

The Choreographers' Venture adresses dance/performance artists that are beginning to mid career who are seeking exchange and new input from project head and participants alike. The content of the Choreographers' Venture depends on the aims of the project head: The project head instigates and facilitates the project, and his/her artistic vision embraces the process. The didactic and physical training aspects are present, but they are not an emphasis of the idea.

The goal of the choreographic venture is to promote the dialogue in dance, to open new horizons for the participants, as well as to create a setting for the project head to follow his/her curiosity and to try out new concepts. Showings and performances will be part of the process.

General structure
Duration of Choreographers' Venture is four weeks. The daily schedule is up to project head and group. Days off are in accordance with the festival and the participants.

The selection process is made by the project head in cooperation with the festival. Application is by resume, letter of motivation and photo. There will be a final selection by the project head at the beginning of the project. Application deadline is June 1st, 2006, application fee is Eur 30.- The project fee of Eur 900.- will be subsidized by sponsors. Please ask the Workshop Office for details.
