Emio Greco I PC (NL)
"Hell"

Ludwig van Beethoven's 5th Symphony and Dante's "Inferno" are beacons lighting the way to hell. At any rate that applies to the unique artistic symbiosis from the Netherlands, Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten, during the creation of their brand new piece "Hell". Greco and Scholten became famous at the end of the 90's with their trilogy " Fra movimento e cervello" in which Emio Greco proved his exceptional qualities as a dancer. "Hell" is the first piece by these two that is wholly dance oriented since " Rimasto Orfano" in 2002. Since then EG | PC were occupied with Pasolini's "Teorema" and Gluck's "Orpheus and Euridyce", with theatre and opera.

The return of the unsurpassed Emio Greco to a medium which is his very own takes place with a journey into the structures of global disaster of our present era, one which had already begun in " Double Points: Nero" (2001). A conflict between blessings and disasters where the history of humankind is written somewhere between paradise lost and a spiral of ruin. The means of transport for the moving works of the two "extremalists" Greco and Scholten is their grandiose combination of highly elaborate dance, strong images and a sophisticated musical score. For "Hell", EG | PC are working together with Dutch experimental filmmaker Joost Rekveld.
