Mathilde Monnier / CCN Montpellier (F)
"frère&sœur"
Two figures in everyday clothes slowly emerge from black, box-like architecture and after this "birth" immediately begin to argue and fight with one another. Mathilde Monnier's choreography " Frère et soeur" concerns strikingly childish violence that in adult reality determines the complications of desire between a man and a woman. With incisiveness and spontaneity the famous choreographer from France analyses the relationships and disasters of humans living together and she does it with her very own absurd poetry: "I try to tell a concrete story, not with words but with the abstraction and sensuality of bodies and movement," says the choreographer about this work. Monier's favourite musician, Erikm, is responsible for the sound.
