They are all constantly travelling. The whole dance scene keeps jetting around the globe and is at home everywhere and nowhere. Where can you meet up and hang out? Where can you relax and enjoy?
In Vienna? Yes. We want to create a living room for all the globetrotters, the stateless and those driven by wanderlust (or a tour plan). Provide a space where everyone can feel at home during the ImPulsTanz Festival.

For 26 evenings, at least, we are trying to design a home with our artists, staff, scholarship holders and a pool of Viennese DJs and musicians. And with a regular Wienerlied evening we also want to tell a piece of our local history in a contemporary way.

Hans Moser might be taking a seat next to Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker, Paul Hörbiger could be raising his glass of wine to toast the first performance of Jérôme Bel’s latest piece, Mathilde Monnier may possibly sing “Mariandl” at the karaoke night, and don’t we all wish to see Sissi drinking a Cosmopolitan in a lounger on the grass outside, swapping stories about men with DD Dorvillier?

Everybody is welcome to take their shoes off, feel at home, and move their bare feet to the various beats.
Everybody can act like they’re at home. Living room – extended version, as it were.
