Tanz Atelier Wien is looking for possible participants and scholarship holders for the first module of the International ChoreoLab Austria (Sept 5-12 2009).

The International ChoreoLab Austria (ICLA) which was developed by the Tanz Atelier Wien in co-operation with the Danube University Krems aims at providing postgraduate education in choreography and will take up work with its first module at Danube University Krems in September (Sept 5-12 2009). Entitled CARTOGRAPHY bodymemento the first module will deal with the relation between dance/movement and space/architecture. Lecturers include Gill Clarke (London), Gus Solomons Jr. (Tisch School, New York), Johannes Birringer (Brunel University, London), osa – office for subversive architecture. The ICLA intends to work with an enhanced interpretation of the term choreography that combines contemporary dance practice, theoretical discourse and performative exploration.
The project is targeted at performers and choreographers as well as other protagonists of the interfaces between dance, theatre, architecture, pedagogy, dramatics, etc. The language of instruction is English. Several partial and full scholarships are available.
