Silke Grabinger (AT)
Silke Grabinger started her dance carreer in the age of 4 years. In 1997, she got in contact with the dance art and subculture Breakdance. Her multimedia art works stood out in several awards and exhibitions in the USA, Canada and Europe. She made her breakthough in 2001, when she was awarded with the 1st prize of the international B-GIRL BATTLE in Berlin. She worked within the group as well as solo and with her sponsor TRIBAL. Further on, she founded the German funkstyle-crew "4Seriaz" and the internationally renowned b-girl/breakdance-girl crew "Female Artistics", with whom she cooperated within the frames of several music projects such as “Afrodynamix” by Werner Puntigam.
Dance theatre projects such as “41” or “RUMBLE” by Renegade Theaters together with choreographers Lorca Renoux(FR) (“Cage”) and Samir Akika (FR) (“E.T.E”) followed, presenting the performance within international tours. In addition, she took a part in Dave St. Pierres (CAN) creation "UN PEU DE TENDRESSE BORDEL DE MERDE".
For two years, Silke Grabinger danced at the Cirque du Soleil / The Beatles collaboration "LOVE" at Mirage Casino in Las Vegas, in with she created the solo "while my guitar gently weeps" (written and recorded by George Harrison, guitar solo recording Eric Clapton). Within the "LOVE" production, she also performed as air acrobat in the piece "Something" and worked together with the choreographers Dave St.Pierre (CAN), Margie Gillis (CAN) and Daniel Ezraelow (USA) (“Across the universe/How the Grinch stole Christmas”)
In 2008, she created her first solo dance theatre performance named "[SLIK]" together with choreographer Roderich Madl (AT) (Pilottanzt). "[SLIK]" was awarded with the Tanztage 2009 award by Linz09 and Posthof, and toured through Europe and Africa.
2009, Silke Grabinger completed her degree for raum&designstrategien (area and design strategies) with the Bachelor of Arts. She got the Austrian scholarship for music and performing arts and as part of a group exhibition by raum&designstrategien the Austrian national award for design. In 2010, she starred in the performance Klangwolke by Hubert Lepka in Linz, performing in front of 70.000 visitors. Together with Karl M. Sibelius and Martin Dvorak, she staged "The Matchgirl Opera" for the Linzer Landestheater, and she created ANIMA in playGuldaplay for Friedrich Gulda at Wiener Konzerthaus, together with Paul Gulda, Martha Agerich and others.
