Daniel Tai trained in both improvisation and technique, made his professional debut at the Whitney Museum of American ARt in 1973 as a member of Lucinda Child`s original post-Judson Church dance company. He has been touring nationally and internationally for much of the 1980s with the Hawkins company, and as a featured soloist dancing several of Mr. Hawkins original lead roles at some of American`s most prestigious venues including Lincoln Center in New York and the American Dance Festival. As faculty member since 1983 at the Hawkins School in New York he has also been invited to give workshops and master classes in numerous European countries.
