The choreographer who comes from Sao Paulo studied classical ballet and modern dance. She was a soloist in the Royal Ballet Flanders and the Sao Paulo City Ballet.
Sonia Mota has developed her own method and works as a teacher of contemporary dance in Brazil, Germany, Protugal, and Italy. For four years she has been heading the Modern Dance Department of the "Tanzprojekte Köln"
