Lutz Förster, who is a Professor for Contemporary Dance at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen furst worked with the Folkwang Tanzstudio in 1978. After an initial collaboration with the Tanztheater Wuppertal he studied in New York with the José Limón Company. In 1986 he returned to the Tanztheater Wuppertal where he has been dancing ever since. Other collaborations include Robert Wilson,.
